CBGa, “the mother of all cannabinoids”, is being researched for supporting Cardiovascular Disease, Metabolic Disorders, and Colon Cancer.*

Flavor: Mint

Serving: 1 full dropper gives you a powerful 16.7mg of CBGa.

CBGa is currently being researched for:

  • Anti-inflammatory
  • Anti-anxiety
  • Inflammatory Bowel Disease (along with CBD and nutritional approach).
  • Promotes apoptosis and decreases angiogenesis in colon cancer cells.
  • May be neuroprotective and support conditions such as Multiple Sclerosis and Parkinson’s Disease.

ABOUT CBGa

Cannabigerolic acid (CBGa) is known as the “Mother” or “Granddaddy” of all cannabinoids. It is the precursor to all the other cannabinoids, including THC, CBD, CBG and CBC. Cannabinoids are compounds produced by cannabis plants that bind to receptors in what is known as our endocannabinoid system, and is produced in the trichomes of the cannabis plant.*

To date, there are few studies regarding the medicinal effects of CBGa:
Cardiovascular Disease

CBGa may help diabetic patients combat some of the disease’s complications and comorbidities like cardiovascular disease. CBGa was studied in vitro and found to greatly inhibit the enzyme aldose reductase, a major contributor of the oxidative stress that leads to heart and other problems.*

Metabolic Disorders
Another research team discovered that CBGa may also help patients with other metabolic disorders. The 2019 in silico study (computer simulation) was performed to look at CBGa’s role in activating peroxisome proliferator activated receptors (PPARs) that regulate metabolism. When PPARs do not function properly, people develop diseases like diabetes and high levels of cholesterol or triglycerides (dyslipidemia). This study showed that CBGa activated the PPAR receptors, stimulating lipid metabolism and thereby reducing excess lipid accumulation.*

Colon Cancer
Finally, CBGa may one day prove crucial for patients with colorectal cancer, the third most common cancer and fourth leading cause of cancer-related death. Researchers looked at cytotoxic effects of CBGa extracted from cannabis, and found that not only did the CBGa kill colon cancer cells, but it hastened early cancer cell death and arrested the cancer cell cycle. While more research is definitely needed, the researchers were encouraged that CBGa may effectively target not only colon cancer cells, but could also prevent the growth and proliferation of polyps. Left untreated, these polyps grow into carcinomas.*

ABOUT OUR HEMP

The hemp for our CannaKoru products is grown in Colorado using strictly organic cultivation practices. All our products are carefully crafted in small batches, using a science driven approach, and are tested by multiple independent labs for purity and potency.

HIGH INTENSITY PESTICIDE-FREE AGRICULTURE

  • CannaKoru uses only pesticide-free growing practices ensuring a pure extract of the highest quality.

  • All of the hemp used for our products is grown at the base of the Rocky Mountains where we irrigate with only glacier and snowpack melt water.

  • Our high potency flower is grown only to a scale that allows for proper drying and processing of flower, unlike many larger hemp farms which field dry or wet bail lower quality biomass.

PROCESSING AND FORMULATION

  • Our premium flower is processed in-house by our PhD extraction scientists...who developed the first ever authorized grow and breeding facility for the University of Colorado.

  • Our products contain a full spectrum of plant diols, and also have robust terpene profiles (such as beta-Caryophyllene, alpha-Bisabolol, and d-Limonene, among many others), proven by third-party lab-tests that can be viewed by going to our "About and Certificate of Analysis" website page.
